TangaMbili is a newly established Tanzanian Limited company that has grown out of a 25-year relationship between a Swedish-Somali family and two small villages in the Tanga region in Tanzania. The Company is managed by Hali and Claes Broms who have lived and worked in East Africa for over 30 years including Somalia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Uganda and Zanzibar. Apart from your visit to Villa Matalai or Camp Mawingu we will be happy to share our experiences from this beautiful and exciting part of the world.

The overall ambition of the TangaMbili Company is to, jointly with our partner communities, build a small sustainable social enterprise in the hospitality sector in Tanga region which can create positive changes for the local people and the environment.

The cost of your stay with us will depend on the duration and type of experience and adventure you are planning.

The price range for room and full board is between USD 75 (sharing) to USD 100 (single occupancy) per person/day.

Additional costs will include sailing and fishing excursions, National Park fees, guides etc. all depending on your plans.

We recommend 3-4 days at each location to have sufficient time to experience what each place has to offer.

By Flight
There are several daily flights to and from Tanga (domestic airport) from Dar es Salaam (Auric Air and Coastal Air) and a daily flight from Arusha (Coastal Air). Both Dar es Salaam and Arusha have international airports i.e. Julius Nyerere (DAR) and Kilimanjaro (JRO – Arusha). You can also fly to Moi International airport in Mombasa, Kenya and arrange for road travel by car or bus from there.

By Road/Bus
There are frequent bus services to Tanga from Dar es Salaam (5-7 hours), Arusha (6 -7 hours) and Mombasa (4 – 5 hours) so getting here by bus is easy but takes time.
